April Crop Chocolate Focus Group Challenge

This month our challenge was to make a project using one of the Crop Chocolate Design Team tutorials. I pick one from October 2011 which was mini album month. The tutorial was done by Scrappy Canuck and her mini album used hand made envelopes. You can see the original tutorial here.  Check back often to see the latest projects the Crop Chocolate Design Team have posted on The Crop.  These ladies have mad skills!!
I thought making these envelopes was going to be a challenge in itself…but with the tutorial I was very surprised at how easy it turned out to be.  I added thin stripes of paper on the flaps to do my journaling.
Clasp Front
I decide to make a winding string clasp to keep my mini album closed but I was also considering a ribbon to tie is closed, maybe next time…
PictureI used coordinating card stock to matte my pictures on (both side) and embellished with stickers from the same paper collection.  I cut and attached small tabs at the tops to make it easy to pull the photos out of the envelopes.
OK, now for the products purchased at Crop Chocolate:  Echo Park Country Drive Collection, Echo Park Little Boy (tree trunk), Lush brads, Jillibean Soup twine, Tim Holtz Distress Ink-Walnut Stain and Pumice Stone, Dear Santa rhinestones, MME Bonjour sentiment.  From my stash:  Tim Holtz dies, Sissix dies, circle punch, American Crafts precision pens.
I have a feeling that I will be making this mini album again and again!  It will be a great way to present photos as a gift!!  You should try it, I promise you won’t regret it!!
