Those of you who visit regularly hear me talk about Crop Chocolate often. Crop Chocolate is my favorite place for scrappy supplies and most importantly inspiration and camaraderie.
Recently there was a call out for the new design team, the term is July-December of this year. I took a giant leap and submitted projects to be considered for the team. Now, you have seen a bunch of my projects posted here and a lot of them are for various challenges but this was so different because these projects would be judged based on the criteria determined by the fabulous folks over at Crop Chocolate and selections made to fill 10 spots on the team.
I would like to take this opportunity to say that the current design team has some SUPER talented ladies on it and I have learned so much from their projects and techniques. THANK YOU ladies!! I will continue to look forward to seeing what you are up to. You can check out their work over at The Crop.
OK so two projects had to be submitted; one that showcases you as a crafter and one that is ‘out of the box’. We also had some questions we had to answer; ‘why would you be a good addition to the design team?’ and ‘what inspires you?’ All has been submitted and selections have been made but first I would like to share my projects…then I will tell you if I made it.
This is my ‘out of the box’ project, an altered box that is about 9”x12”. It was a wooden box I picked up in the after Christmas clearance for a steal and always had big plans for. This is a bigger project than I would normally do and has many layers so work was done on it and then I had to leave it to dry, etc. I am the type of crafter that likes to sit down to work on a project and finish it in that sitting so this was a huge lesson in patience for me!
About seventy-five percent of the supplies were purchased from Crop Chocolate. Honestly, if you haven’t checked them out you should. I get the most amazing deals on these beautiful items!!
My project that showcased me as a crafter was my Spring ATC for a swap organized by a current member of the design team, JeepMama. Pop over to her blog and see what she has been up to, you WILL NOT be disappointed! Scrap Addict’s Attic
I will have a post with more details regarding this ATC and the swap very soon so I hope you will stop back by!
So what do you think of my project submissions?? I hope you will leave me a comment.
And now I won’t keep you waiting anymore… I AM A CROP CHOCOLATIER!!! I was selected to be on the team and I cannot tell you how THRILLED I am!! I am so excited and a little intimidated by all the talent I have to live up to. We have got some big shoes to fill but I can honestly say I am up the the challenge…I just hope I live up to it!
Thank you Crop Chocolate for selecting me and thank you Amber for being such a great pleasure to work with!!
Come back soon!!!
