Michele (by belle) You are here!

1. When I was a kid (before I graduated from high school) I wanted to be a dental hygienist. Now I can’t even imagine putting my hands in peoples mouths…
2. My first job when I moved to Los Angeles was with a travel agency and we sold vacation packages to central America. I was lucky enough to get to travel to the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador.
3. In junior high and high school I was in the marching band, flute and saxophone mostly but I also tried piccolo, oboe, drums and flag.
4. I get really nervous when speaking in front of groups of people even if I know them, my face turns beet red and I speak REALLY fast.
5. I have been told bunches of times I laugh like Betty Rubble. ;)
These are the projects I submitted for my tryout:
ALTERED BOOK

And now your chance for some handmade blog candy…leave me a comment and become a follower if you aren’t already and I will have a random drawing for a winner to be announced Tuesday January 15th.
Thanks for hopping by…but you’re not done yet. Hop over the The Crop and check out what’s happening over there.
I am looking forward to another great term filled with FUN and INSPIRATION! There are some talented ladies that will be sharing some great projects!!
Make sure you are getting inky often!!
Great projects, Michele, and I love your facts. I have to speak in front of people all the time, so I had to get over that fear. Thank heavens for 7th grade speech class. I'm looking forward to another term with you!
ReplyDeleteI played the sax and was the flag captain for three years :-) I'm a total band geek & so are my two boys, both on the tuba! I love your art... seriously, I do!
ReplyDeleteOh...fact #4, I'm so with you on that one...I get the shakes in my hands too, which is fun when your teaching a card or scrapbook LO class! I LOVE these projects, especially that book. I think I need to make something like this for my 6 year old son, he would love to have his own little hidden treasure box in a book!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work Michele! Have a blast on the team this term!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely amazing, as usual!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Michele, you make such beautiful projects! I had to laugh at fun fact #1 (I'm with you on that one) but I'm so envious you got to go to the Galapagos! How cool that must have been!!! Love working with you, girl! :)
ReplyDeleteLove your altered book! It's such a great idea!Looking forward to this term with all these talented ladies.
ReplyDeleteMichelle, your projects are just beautiful. I love the paper you used for your altered book.
ReplyDeleteI get that beet red face thing sometimes when speaking to large groups too. It is kinda a problem for me though because I have to do it a lot. I just tell myself that they don't notice (although I know they do). :)
Beautiful projects! I especially love your altered book!
ReplyDeleteFunny...when I have to talk to big groups, I talk way to fast too. All of your projects are so great. Such talent!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the projects! Super neat...those book pages must have taken forever to take out (at least it LOOKS like it was a real book once). I also talk really fast...in my Communications 101 class in college we had to do a timed speech and if I had talked a normal speed I would have probably made the time, but when I'm in front of people I want to get it over with as quickly as possible. The ONLY time I remember not being nervous was when we had a computer malfunction in one of my Finance classes and after about 5 minutes of trying to figure it out while standing in front of 30-40 other students, I just didn't care about them anymore and just went with speaking without the computer aid. Teacher wanted us to set it up for another day, but because FOR ONCE I didn't have jitters, I insisted we go ahead and do it without powerpoint and talk only.
ReplyDeleteOh Michelle....your projects are always so amazing.....!
ReplyDeleteI would love to hear you laugh!!!
I'm always inspired by your work! Fantastic as usual! Thanks again for the inspiration! :0)
ReplyDeleteAlways love your projects. Tried that book . . . wow I didn't anticipate the time and effort it took to cut all those pages. But I was happy with it in the end. Congratulations.

ReplyDeleteGreat projects (although I have to admit I am a little freaked out by altered books!) Your facts are fun! I was in marching band too, my instrument was clarinet and I was also a rifle and a flag (for winter corps). And you're so lucky to have visited Costa Rica, I have had friends who visited and love it there.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful projects-I really like the frame! I enjoy seeing all of your projects and I share your fear of speaking in front of people-aarrrgghhh!
ReplyDeleteLove your projects that book is awesome, great job. I used to hate speaking in front of people but it really gets easier the more you do it
ReplyDeleteHi Michele, love your fun facts, you played quite a few instruments! I get nervous speaking in front of people too, I have been thinking about doing a toast masters to help get over that, although I have gotten better, if I can sit down I am usually okay, but if I have to stand in the front I still get nervous. Love your projects, the altered book is awesome, you always have such beautiful projects. I am looking forward to working with you on the DT.
ReplyDeleteI love both the book and frame and look forward to seeing your DT projects! I also enjoyed reading your fun facts. (Am now a follower)
ReplyDeleteMichele, you inspire me every day! I can't believe that I didn't know ANY of these facts! ; ) Cannot wait to see what you come up with next... and of course I am a follower even though I am lucky enough to actually see all of your projects in person! Congrats on DT again!

ReplyDeleteLOVE the Flinstones! I'm gonna have to listen for Betty's laugh next time I catch it on TV! :) That IS a fun fact! :) My daughter plays flute & is learning sax! :) (She's in Jr. High, so no marching band...yet...)
ReplyDeleteBoth projects are GREAT!! Love them both!! You always have such great details! :)
