What’s your fave??

I love Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps and have been doing the weekly challenges over on the KKS blog.  This weeks challenge is to use your FAVE KK image!! So create a card, scrapbook page or altered item with a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp that is either your favorite...or maybe one you haven't even used yet that you've been dying to play with!!
This week my FAVE is Arielle!  It is the last one from my most recent order that I haven’t used but have been DYING to  ink up.
I also used Basic Grey PB&J and Bo Bunny Double Dot cardstock, May Arts ribbon, Basic Grey and Theresa Collins bling and of course my Copics.  I think I need to add some Stickles to the stars in her hair…what do you think??

Cape Fear River

I spent some time in Wilmington, NC last spring where I got some beautiful pictures on the Cape Fear River.  I scrapped a 12x12 layout of one of those pictures for this layout for Scrappy Chic.
Cape Fear
I wanted to showcase the picture so I made the layout fairly simple.  I used Carta Bella Well Traveled, May Arts ribbons and Maya Rd Tutu Tulle ribbon.

Butterfly Exhibit

Last year my niece started school and I volunteered for a field trip to the zoo.  I’ll tell ya, kindergarteners are BUSY!  But we had fun and got to see the butterfly exhibit which I have never seen before.  I remembered this trip and this photos when I saw a layout my friend Nina did.  You can see the original that inspired me here.
This layout is for Scrappy Chic, I used Jenni Bowlin Modern Mercantile-Paraphernalia and Etcetera.

Silly Face

I have been trying all kinds of new things and am trying to incorporate all of these new techniques in my layouts.  Here is another 12x12 layout I did for Scrappy Chic.  This is number 4 out of 6 that I did this month and I really tried to make them all different.  This is one of my favorites…I just love the polaroid frame and the clustering.  And of course you can’t go wrong with gesso!!
Silly Face
I used Jenni Blowlin Red/Black Collection, don’t you absolutely love the chevrons!!

You will be able to see this sometime soon in the store, you just HAVE to see all the little details in person.

Challenge #55 – Flowers!

For this weeks challenge at Crop Chocolate we are asked to include at least one flower made from some other item, it could be ribbon, another shape, another material, something recycled. Anything goes as long as you make the flower or flowers are handmade.  I was inspired by fellow design team member Corrie’s tutorial that is up on The Crop right now.  You can check it out here.  I used dictionary pages for my flower and a Pagemaps sketch for the layout of the card.
Crop Chocolate product: Theresa Collins Now and Then, Distress Ink Walnut Stain, Zing embossing powder, Lush brad, Stickles Crystal.
Other products: Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Atlantic, Spellbinders leaves die, Paper Smooches stamp

My Favorite Place…

I am often inspired by the beaches of Malibu.  I am lucky enough to have a BFF that has a house on the beach where I get to spend time several time a year…I am REALLY lucky!!
This layout for Scrappy Chic pulls out the beautiful colors of the beach and just showcases them.  I love the combination of the natural and the blues.
I used Bo Bunny Mama Razzi- Photo booth and Focus and Heidi Swapp Vintage Chic Handwritten along with a Heidi Swapp banner.
M2I di some background inking with Distress Ink Peacock Feathers and round punchinella.
M3I also did some stamping with the eraser on my pencil and them glued down some beads and itty bitty glass bead glitter.  Did you notice the stamping on this circle??
M1Popped on a badge and there it is.  I love this layout…who would love looking at that beautiful beach!!
See you next time!

Water Sprite!

I really love hexagons and they are all the rage right now!!  I finally tried a layout using a hexagon background and I have to say I really like it!

This layout has a little bit of everything on it but it all worked so well together!  Washi tape, flowers, glitter, twine and splatters of glimmer mist.  It is so much fun combining all of these great elements!!

Today I want to share a layout I did for Scrappy Chic.  Now, I mentioned that I challenged myself to do at least 3 layouts a month and so far I have met my challenge.  I also want to say that if you have been visiting often you will have noticed I don’t post very many layouts…that’s because I don’t do that many.  Since I have challenged myself I have been really searching for designs and styles that I love, of course Pinterest is an amazing source for that.  Well, I am becoming a big fan of 12x12 layouts slowly but surely and I am really happy with this one!
The paper on this one is Paper Loft Shades of Grey, Bo Bunny Double Dot and MME On the Bright Side.

Thanks for stopping by and come back soon to see what else I have been up to this month!

A KKS Challenge…Anything Goes!

I can’t pass up an anything goes challenge!!!  So I inked up another of my Kraftin’ Kimmie stamps,  Chester, and got coloring.
He is a little charmer isn’t he?  Now, I have never used flowers on what I thought would be a boy card…so I tried it and I love how it turned out.  I think, though, that this will end up being a card for girl ;).
