Basic Grey Mint Julep

I absolutely love the color combination of this line.  That green is perfect to mix with the pinks and blues and yellows of the patterned papers.  You can find this collection at Scrappy Chic  but you better hurry before I get back to the store and buy it all up!
Harpers Paper
As you can see in the picture, Harper is drawn to green paper too when she is working on a project.  Along with the paper I used the buttons from this collection.  I also used some twine, gems, a brad, some punches, stamps and punchinella.

I hope to see you over at Scrappy Chic…I will be checking out all of the new product that keeps arriving everyday!

Bo Bunny Trail Mix

I took this picture last fall, I just love fall colors!!  Such vibrant reds, oranges, yellows and greens!!  This Bo Bunny collection is perfect for my Fall Colors photo.  Next time  you are at Scrappy Chic make sure you check it out.
Fall Colors
I also used Bo Bunny embellishments and gems on this layout.  This was a great layout to use some of my scraps too.  I mixed in some washi tape, May Arts ribbon stained with Distress Stain and some leaves cut from Tim Holtz tattered leaves dies.  I did some doodling and journaling with one of my Distress markers.

I have been using my sewing machine a lot on my layouts, I mixed a straight stitch with a zig zag for a border and accents on the page.

MME Find Your Wings and Fly

My only memory of first grade is a kiss and a boy named Adam…
The MME collection worked out perfectly for this picture of McKenna at the start of first grade.  It was part of my May kit from Scrappy Chic.
1st grade
I mixed it with some navy blue Bo Bunny and a Bo Bunny doily sprayed with glimmer mist and splatter with Distress Stain.  I also used the MME buttons and brads that coordinate with this collection.  You will notice some May Arts jute and washi tape too.

Authentique Seasons

I had some super fun paper in my Scrappy Chic kit this month!!  The first I tackled was Authentique Seasons.  This layout uses Summer Two and Three.  I not only LOVE the colors I simple adore the patterns!!
I just found this black and white photo of my great grandparents and when I spread out this collection the photo practically jumped on to the paper.  I used a new Life Style crafts die, three different May Arts ribbons, Maya Road trim (stain with Distress Stain), Zva gems, a resin piece from Um Wow Studio, my sewing machine and a vintage button.  I think the button may have actually been my great grandmothers, I found it in some things my mother had…funny how things work out!

I better get back to Scrappy Chic and grab some more of this paper!!!  It is so me!!!
Thanks for stopping by!!

May Arts Ribbon DT Call

May Arts and the Ribbon Lady offer an amazing product!  These ribbons are just AWESOME!  I have been using them on my project for some time now so when I saw this design team call I had to give it a shot.
This is round 1 of the May Arts Prima Ribbonista design team call…
I have a few new projects to share with you.  The first was inspired by my crafty friend Christina.  She has been baking some amazing cakes lately and I came up with this treat box that looks like a fluffy cake.
May Arts ribbon, Carta Bella So Noted paper, liquid pearls and distress ink.

Next I made a wreath, in honor of spring, I was so happy to start seeing nice weather!!
IMG_7516I wrapped a small Styrofoam circle in yarn and then in one of my favorite May Arts ribbons.  I have almost every color of this chevron ribbon!!!

This next project, for my nieces-one each in their favorite colors, uses homemade chalkboard paint.  I thought they would have fun with these door hangers  by writing their own messages on them.
IMG_7512I stamped them with my FAVORITE VLVS! the spotted butterfly in 2 sizes, wrapped some May Arts silk ribbon (that I sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist) and tied on a button.  The rolled flowers are made with May Arts 1.5 inch white ribbon and suede leaves.
First I tied a knot in the end of the ribbon.
I used a Glubber but you could also cut a circle and use a strong adhesive.  Attach the knot in the middle of the circle.
While twisting the ribbon begin attaching in a circle around the knot.
Continue until you reach the edge of your circle.  I tucked the end under and adhered.

I needed two flowers and sprayed them in different colors of glimmer mist.
I wanted two leaves for each flower so I cut off four suede leave and sprayed with glimmer mist.

After everything was dry (I am not very patient so I used my heat gun to speed things up) I hot glued the leaves and flower to my door hangers.  Viola!

Next is a little gallery some more of  my favorite projects all using May Arts ribbon.

When you have time you should definitely stop by the Mart Arts blog!  You will be truly inspired by all of the talent!  There is also a challenge coming up in June, the theme is nautical…the ribbon lady selected some AMAZING ribbons.  I was lucky enough to have been selected to participate in the challenge.  Be sure to check it out!!

Viva Las VegaStamps! DT Tryout

You have heard me talk about VLVS! a lot and have seen the amazing stamps on a lot of my projects so when I saw this I HAD to try out!!!

I am going to share a couple of new projects and some of my favorites all using VLVS!
This first one is brand new…a little ‘beehive’ using one of my new favorites, the small bee and also using the hexagon background stamp.

I also used a Globecraft ornament, May Arts ribbon, gold embossing powder, MME paper and brad, distress stickles and the UmWow Studios hexagon background.

This next project was inspired by something I saw on Pinterest about stamping on salt dough.  I used a few of my VLVS!:  small spotted butterfly, small bee, dictionary pagewriting background, small bird in flight, chicken wire.

I also used some May Arts silk ribbon to hang these cute little ornaments on.

The next is a layout using the UmWow Studio sketch challenge that is up this week over at Crop Chocolate.

I used the small bee, small spotted butterfly, washi grid background and hexagon background stamps along with some UmWow Studio chip pieces.

I am also including a mini gallery of some other projects using images from VLVS!
