My good friends over at UmWow Studios just introduced a new product, MASKS!!  I just got my complete set Saturday and today I got a few of them inky!  I made this card for a dear friend of mine…

I used the heart confetti and heart hands masks along with the layered heart and heart confetti chipboard.  Everything coordinates BEAUTIFULLY!
You also see some Authentique paper, May Arts jute and Distress Ink-Walnut Stain.

Stay tuned for more projects using UmWow awesomeness!

All Geared UP

I whipped up this tagged with some left over pieces of Steampunk Spells from my August kit for Scrappy Chic.

I like that I used Halloween  colors for an everyday project.  I used Tim Holtz Gears die, a gear charm and alphas, May Arts jute and black chevron ribbon along with some chunky yarn.

You can barely see it but I stamped some gears and embossed with clear high gloss embossing powder and inked up the edges.
I especially love the textures and layers on this quickie tag, this collection is super versatile!!  What do you think??

A Chest for Treasures

This months kit for Scrappy Chic was full of some great papers!!  For this project I used the new KaiserCraft Take Note collection.

The drawers are all different papers from the collection:  Memento, Recorded, Message and Memories.  I used my Cameo to cut four boxes with drawers and then attached them all together to make this chest for treasures.  I also used Carta Bella kraft cardstock, Jenni Bowlin rub ons, May Arts new narrow chevron ribbon, Tim Holtz star stencil and alphas, Distress paint, star punchinella, Distress Ink and layered star and star confetti chipboard from UmWow Studio.

As always you will be able to see this on display the next time you are shopping at Scrappy Chic.

The new Christmas line from Authentique is named Joyous and it is truly that!!!  The colors are traditional Christmas but muted and beautiful while the patterns are typical Authentique.  While I was at Create-n-Connect with Chris at Scrappy Chic I saw a beautiful tree made from flowers in the Authentique booth, I knew I had to have one and when I saw this collection in my Scrappy Chic kit for August I knew now was the time.
I chose three of the patterned papers; Classic, Confection and Diverse and got to work on the 75 flowers I used for my tree.

Once all of the flowers were made (two days of cutting, shaping and hot gluing) I hot glued them all to a green foam cone.

I pinned some pieces of Tim Holtz tinsel in the empty spacing, filled the flowers with perfect pearls to form their centers ( you can’t see it in the photos really) and attached to the base.  I used a wooden ribbon spool wrapped in May Arts jute and tied on a Tim Holtz Christmas charm for the base so it looked like a trunk.

I am overJOYed with how this project worked out!  If you stop by the store you should check it out, the paper is just gorgeous!!

Sketch challenge with a TWIST

Drill #14 at S.W.A.T. is a sketch challenge…
August 2013 sketch

but here is the twist…use stickers and Thickers don’t count!  I had a tough time with this one, I am just not much of a sticker user.  Last Sunday I took the ‘littles’ to the movies, we saw Planes!  This layout is with pictures from that day.
The collection is Echo Park For the Record 2, I used paper and stickers for the pack.    I also used some  Basic Gray Micro Mono alphas, UmWow Studios flair (The Bee’s Knees set), May Arts jute, Tattered Angels glimmer mist and a couple of Fiskars punches.

You have until the end of the month to link up your project, can’t wait to see it!!

More Steampunk Spells!!

I can hardly believe it is the middle of August already, and that mean Halloween is right around the corner.  My August kit for Scrappy Chic had some of the super fun Steampunk Spells collection, THANKS Angela!!  I made this fold out mini.

I used Vintage Voyage, Nevermore and Clockworks for this 4x6 mini.

I also used a couple of the chipboard pieces from the collection along with May Arts chevron ribbon and jute, MME brads and dots, UmWow Studio layered chipboard circles, perfect pearls, archival ink and sequins.

I used my scoreboard so all my folds were crisp.

Perfect for a couple of your favorite Halloween photos and stories!

To celebrate I am sharing a layout I did today.  It isn’t for any challenge or a design team but just for me, I haven’t done a project just because in quite a while...  And of course it is a layout about my favorite subjects…

You will notice some of my favorite products on this layout:  MME Miss Caroline, Bazzill, UmWow Studio chipboard and flair, May Arts ribbons and jute, Distress Stain, Paint and Ink, my Cameo, Tattered Angels glimmer glam, sequins, gems and my sewing machine.

Another share today from my trip with Chris, for Scrappy Chic, to Create-n-Connect (CHA)…in the Idea-ology booth the make-n-take was a Holiday Wishes Mini Burlap Panel.

Happy Birthday DeeDee!

This month we are celebrating the birthday of one of my very talented friends, DeeDee Catron of UmWow Studio!  I made her this little token of my great appreciation for all of the ways she inspires me!

Make sure you pop over to the UmWow Studio blog or Facebook page and wish DeeDee a happy birthday!

Steampunk Spells Pocket Fold Mini

OK, so you know by now that I was at Create-n-Connect (CHA)…lucky me right!?!  While Chris was planning all of the amazing new product purchases and mingling with all the vendors, I got to take a couple of classes.  Today I am going to show you the Pocket Fold Mini album designed by Laura Denison for Graphic 45.
Here I am with Laura and a couple of the lovely G45 girls.
This fun mini album was designed using Steampunk Spells.  The collection is already on the shelves over at Scrappy Chic!!  This collection is beautiful, the colors are fantastic!!
This mini will be in the store so you can see for yourself how fun this design is.  I love the pocket pages!!

I had the opportunity to got the Create-n-Connect (CHA) show in Las Vegas last month with Chris at Scrappy Chic... we had so much fun and  I met a bunch of amazing people and learned many things!!  One of my favorite encounters was with Anna Dabrowska (Finnabair) at the Prima booth, I love her style!!

w Anna

She was working on a project and talking about her process and I was in awe…

Anna's work

In person the details are unbelievable!

Annas palatteAnd I love her palette!!

The main thing that I got from all that she talked about was that you just had to feel it and CREATE.  I finally decide to try it.  Here is what I ended up with…

Sisters canvas

Now, I have only been finished for about an hour and I have already  been thinking about what items I want to use on my next canvas…there are unlimited possibilities with what can be done and what can be used.

I used all kinds of bits…charms, gears, locks, keys, fractured doll, beads and Pink Paislee wood alphas.

And of course LOADS of Prima flowers; paper, metal and acrylic.

You will also see UmWow Studio chipboard, damaged punchinella along with actual punchinella from Gauche Alchemy.  I also used 2 different punchinella’s for a maks on the background.  The is modeling paste and a dictionary page layered in there too.

I think the next one will be a bit more colorful, maybe brighter colors…we’ll see how it takes shape.
Well, there it is, not too shabby for my first try.  What do you think?

Drill #13 – Trendy Triangles

Our first drill for August over at S.W.A.T. is a fun one!!!  Trendy triangles, this give you so many options!!  You can fins a triangle is almost anything!
I started by cutting a stencil on kraft paper with my Cameo.  I used a special mix of paint to create my background.  MME On the Bright Side and Miss Caroline along with Canvas Corp Newsprint papers used.  Um Wow Studio chipboard polaroid (large love this), layered triangles and FLAIR! (make a wish set) look great with my color combination.  I also used May Arts jute, Gauche Alchemy punchinella, Distress Ink-Pumice Stone, sequins, Fiskars boarder punch and American Crafts precision pen.

I am in love with these colors and black and white photos…
I hope you are inspired to create a project using triangles and make sure to link it up over at S.W.A.T.  I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
