Holiday Card Tim Holtz Style

While I was at Create-n-Connect (CHA) with Chris at Scrappy Chic in July I took a Tim Holtz class, it was super fun!!

And of course we got to use some of the newest products, I was in my glory!
This is the card we made in that class… total Tim Holtz distressed style!

I wanted to take the design and make it ‘my own’. So here is what I came up with…

What is great about this card is the hidden tag that pulls out of the top.

Stop by the store to see it in person and if you would be interested in learning how it is done let the ladies know at the counter, if we have enough interest classes will be offered!!
I also made these quick and easy tags with the new Tim Holtz holiday blueprint mini stamps, star stencil and watercolor paper.

Adorable possibilities!!  Wouldn’t these look amazing on all your holiday packages?!

Beach Beauty

I just ADORE this picture of Harper on the beach this summer!!  And the new Pebbles Front Porch collection had the prefect paper for my background, book club.

I distressed and painted the edges and attach to ouchless cardboard from Gauche Alchemy.  I also used a few of my favorite UmWow Studio products:  heart confetti, layered heart chipboard and the heart confetti mask.  You will also notice line of chevrons and writing background from V LVS!  There is also some May Arts ribbon and jute, Kaisercraft flower, vintage lace, washi, sequins, MME brad, molding paste and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.

Shawn, my cousin, turned five the other day so of course I had to have a special card for him.  I adore this VLVS! Boy in Cape!!  It works for little boys, teenagers or grown men…
I also used Authentique papers, UMS layered star chipboard, star confetti and the new light bulb mask along with a piece of flair from the vintage flair set.  You might also recognize the VLVS! make a wish stamp and some May Arts jute twine.

Art Journal!

I was a guest designer over at Viva Las Vegastamps! in July, such an honor!  For my projects I started an art journal, something I thought I would do…but I love creating in it and when I gather all thoughts about what inspired each page I am going to actually journal in it!!  I will share those pages at the end of this post but for September there is some new challenge inspiration over at VLVS! so I went back to work in my journal!

For my new page I was inspired by a couple of things:  the colors, the map and the idea of recycling.

I recycled a page from a road atlas and cut some hexagons for a layer in my background.  I sprayed some Tattered Angels glimmer mist, used the UmWow Studios hexagon masks and VLVS! six hexagon background with Distress ink and gesso first.  I also used the VLVS! be true, bottle and  writing background images.  You will also see some of my FAVORITE UWS star confetti and I used the star confetti mask.  I finished it off with a bit of May Arts jute twine.

And here are the cover and my first couple of pages in the journal…

I am having so much fun with this journal and when I finally get to writing in it I know I am going to fall  in love with it all over again.

Drill #15 – 3 S’s

I hope you are up for a challenge because over at SWAT drill #15 is a good one!!  The 3 S’s, stitching, stamping and splattering (or spraying)…this is a GREAT combination!

I used Bazzil dots-Pepper, 7 Dot Studio Messy Head-Just Saying, Cosmo Cricket Halfway Cafe-Oklahoma City, UmWow Studio Sunburt chipboard, star confetti chipboard and star confetti mask.  I also used May Arts chevron ribbon, American Crafts brad, Distress paint, Distress ink, sequins, American Crafts precision pen, Tattered Angels glimmer mist, Tim Holtz alphas, Cameo and a couple VLVS! images-design solid circles, washi grid background, coffee ring stain.

I love tearing the paper, distressing and having something show through…for this layout I inked with the mask.
