She’s got SASS!

Can you believe it is already the end of October??  Where does the time go???  Today I am sharing the first project from my October Scrappy Chic kit.  I’m so behind, I know but life has gotten in the way of my crafting lately…
For this layout I actually combined two collections, Fancy Pants Collecting Moments and Studio Calico Thataway.

These two lines blend perfectly!  Throw in my FAVorite chipboard from UmWow Studio (viewfinder film reel, mini blank polaroid, layered banners, heart confetti) and some pieces from an UmWow embellishment kit (flower and burlap tag) along with some VLVS! images, May Arts ribbon, vintage lace and button, washi and gesso and this is what you get.

I love covering my chip with gesso!!

Come back and visit soon!!!

Summertime, Summertime, Sum, Sum, Summertime!

I love participating in swaps…This ATC (Artist Trading Card) swap was with some of the lovely ladies I met over at Crop Chocolate.  The theme was SUMMER and with all the rain we have had this summer I was inspired to create these…

I used some kraft and white cardstock, MME Indie Girl scraps from my stash along with 2 VLVS! images:  dictionary page and girl with umbrella facing away.  I also used a couple of Fiskars punches, Prima mask, American Crafts precision pen, archival ink, Distress ink and Stickles.

15 cards in this collection…can’t wait to see all the great ones I get back!!!

Halloween Cards and Tags

Halloween is not my favorite holiday…BUT I am certainly loving me some Halloween crafting!!!  Today I just wanted to share some cards and tags I have been working on using Viva Las Vegastamps! and UmWow Studio chipboard products.

I used some of my Distress markers to color this awesome witch hat!

More coloring with Distress markers and  Distress paint on the star confetti chipboard.

Look how great archival ink looks on the UWS chip raven!!

spooky trick or treat

These tags were inspired by DeeDee’s make-n-take for October, you can see the original here.
Fun stuff right??!  Well I better get back to it…I just had a few more ideas!!

Chessboard-Challenge 82

I have just recently discovered 7 Dot Studio and I instantly fell in LOVE!  My Friends DeeDee and Amy just were invited to joined the design team, Scrapki Wyzwaniowo, for 7 Dot, you should definitely check it out!  They have a challenge up right now to use a ‘chessboard’ pattern on your project so I thought I would try it.

I cut a checkerboard background on my Cameo and used it as a mask with modeling paste.  Layers with paper (Cosmo Cricket, Authentique), Bo Bunny doily, VLVS! stamps (writing background), punchinella…of course UmWow Studio chip too!  (layered butterflies).  May Arts ribbon, Prima flowers and brad, Tim Holtz embellishments, washi tape, vintage button and sequins.

I smeared some glaze and distress paint on the modeling paste once it dried.

I am super happy with how this layout developed!  Maybe some journaling…then I can call it done :).

Halloween Graveyard

Viva Las Vegastamps, my favorite place for fabulous pink rubbah and awesome inspiration, hosts monthly challenges.  Here is October’s:

I was inspired by the brick background, wrought iron fence and Halloween theme.  I had a vision of this tag in a dream and tried, for the first time, masking (baby steps) and scene stamping (again…BABY steps).

I used full moon, brick background, cemetery and spiked fence from VLVS!.  From UmWow Studio I used the star confetti mask, bat confetti and spooky branch.  And then May Arts ribbon and jute, Tattered Angels Glimmer mist, Distress Ink, gesso, archival ink and Distress Markers.

I had a lot of fun making this tag!!

And I am loving this Halloween crafting!!
Looking forward to what you create and link up!!  You have until the end of the month…

Me and My Favorite Shadow

I am almost caught up on my September kit for Scrappy Chic…here is another layout.  This one using Teresa Collins Memorabilia collection.  This pattern is called Snippets, don’t you just love those arrow tails???!
I also used the sequins from the collection.  My cameo cut all the arrows from Bazzill cardstock.  I inked up a couple of stamps from my favorite pink rubber company, VLVS! and adhered some fabulous chip board from UmWow Studio.    I alos used the heart confetti mask (UWS) with modeling paste.  Tattered Angels glimmer mist, washi tape, Tim Holtz alphas, Prima Say it With Crystals and my sewing machine were used too.

With Authentique Thrilling from my Scrappy Chic kit for September I made this quick Halloween card.
I used the Tim Holtz Bigz die Bewitching Hour to cut the witch from black chipboard, used embossing ink and powder with the Tim Holtz stars stencil, stamped the moon with a VLVS! image (full moon), embossed an UWS chip star for my sentiment banner that also used Tim Holtz alphas and tied some May Arts jute around.

The Little Things

Over at SWAT drill #17 challenges you to fussy cut.  Make sure you head over there and get your entry in for a chance to win a great prize!  You have until the end of October.
Now, there are all kinds of levels of difficulty when it comes to fussy cutting, basic to intricate.  For my tag I stamped a couple of images and cut them out, even though this is pretty basic fussy cutting I love the depth this creates on my tag!!

I know you’ll want to know what stamps I used, cuz they are AMAZING!!  VLVS! images; bottle (although I would call it a tiny jar), bottle and house fly.  Then from Um Wow Studio… harlequin mask, star confetti and daisy chipboard.  Also, May Arts ribbon and jute twine, washi tape, stickles, glimmer mist, sequins, floral gems, distress ink, archival ink and gesso.  Oh and a friend of mine just gave me an OLD SCHOOL Dymo label maker, I love vintage!!!

Easy peasy right? Right!  So what are you waiting for??  Get busy on your entry!!!

Mother Goose Mini Album

I am a HUGE fan of Graphic 45!  When I saw the Mother Goose Collection in my Scrappy Chic kit I was HAPPY!  I wanted to do something with it that wasn’t ‘girly’.  With 2 nieces is seems like I am always using pink and flowers, not that I am complaining cuz I LOVE me some PINK!!!!  But is is nice to mix is up every once in a while…
I started with a Heidi Swapp wood album and altered it by cutting a bit off the cover and using the Heidi Swapp dot mask with Tattered Angels Glimmer mist and Heidi Swapp Color Shine.  I did the same thing to a couple of the pages that came with the album after a used a border punch on the ends.  I also cut some of the pages from the G45 collection to fill in.  I did some fussy cutting too…topped it off with my FAVORITE May Arts chevron ribbon.

Simple Things

Our September kits for Scrappy Chic were chock full of new collections!  This one from Little Yellow Bicycle, Feels Like Home, is one I got and I love the color combination!!!
I also used the die cut words from the collection as well.  I was able to use a scrap of Authentique paper that I just couldn’t make myself part with, good thing because it was perfect to show off the UWS cattail chip (with Distress Stickles and Distress Stain) and goes with the gesso using the UWS Chevron mask just right!!  The other accents are burlap ribbon, cheese cloth and May Arts jute twine.
Thankful closeFall is upon us and this collection would be perfect for all those Thanksgiving photos you will have sooner than you think… :)
