TWINE!!

Challenge #60, yes 60 (can you believe it has been that many???  What I can’t believe is that I have done them ALL!) over at Crop Chocolate this week is to use a neutral base with twine for a pop of color.
IMG_7333
I used several different cardstocks, Theres Collins, Fancy Pants and Bo Bunny along with MME twine, American Crafts brad and Doodlebug washi tape all from Crop Chocolate.  I also use some stamps from my favorite Stamp company, Viva Las VegaStamps!
IMG_7329I tried a new technique that my friend Scrappy Canuck is showing over on her blog.  You can hardly see it in the photo but it is a fast and lovely way to do some heat embossing with glue dots and embossing powder.  You should pop over and see her cute card by clicking here.
Thanks for visiting today!

Spring Wreath

April showers bring May flowers…well, if that is the case then boy oh boy are we going to have lots and lots of flowers this year!!
I have had visions of this spring wreath for about a week now so I decided to get to it and make this puppy!

Finished

It is a styrofoam wreath wrapped in yarn.  I made some flowers with Echo Park For the Record 2 paper and liquid pearl center (both from Crop Chocolate) and hot glued them on.  Look at those UmWow Studio layer chipboard butterflies…I painted them, splattered them, wrapped some wire around them and added some stickles, Oh I just LOVE them!!  And of course that is May Arts ribbon tied in a pretty bow to hang it from.

My wreath is going up on the front door…hopefully it will coax spring into blooming!

Smiling Sisters!!

I just LOVE my photos in black and white, actually I have always been a BIG fan of black and white photography.  I especially love how you can pick any color combo and the photo just POPS!!  As you know I LOVE pink…put it with black, white and kraft and it just can’t get any better.  Of course when the subjects are so darn cute you can’t go wrong!!
IMG_7198
This 8x8 layout has A LOT of my favorite products on it.  UmWow Studio layered chip pieces (stars and arrow), VLVS! images (writing arrowline of chevrons, chevron banner, writing background) and May Arts ribbon and jute.

Happy Day!!

All day at work I was thinking about CHIPBOARD!!  and this hot air balloon stamp and washi tape.  It was a wonder I got any work done… ;)  So as soon as I walked in my front door I went straight down to my craft room.
IMG_7180
I have been using this Theresa Collins Giving Thanks paper A LOT lately but I just love it for card and tag bases!!  The layered cloud chip board is UmWow Studio that I stamped with a VLVS! image (Writing Background) and covered with glossy accents.  The cloud layer is covered in gesso.   I stamped the hot air balloon (Balloon Airship) directly on the card and on a scrap piece of Echo Park cardstock, fussy cut the balloon and used pop dots for dimension.  I also used Hug Snug sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and some washi tape.

Ahhh, making this card tonight was just the relaxation I NEEDED!!  Hope you like it!!

I was VERY excited when I saw this Fancy Pants collection in my April kit for Scrappy Chic!  It is a new collection called Park Bench.  I just LOVE the colors and patterns and… well all of it!!
IMG_7114
Along with the Fancy Pants awesomeness I also used Doodlebug washi tape, Jillibean words, Stickles and gems.  I cut the chevrons with a Die Namics die and by using a square punch.  I also did splattering with Mister Huey, Heidi Swapp and Tattered Angels mists.

S.W.A.T. Drill #5

Drill number #5 over on the S.W.A.T. (Scrap Warriors Advanced Training) blog is scrapping your stash, dig in to your stash and find the old stuff and find a way to make it new and trendy.  I was invited to be April’s S.W.A.T. Girl and guest designer for this challenge.  I hope you are inspired by my layout and enter the challenge, there is a fabulous prize up for grabs at S.W.A.T. and I will have a random drawing, for some blog candy, selected from all your comments right here on my blog.  If you enter the challenge you will be entered twice.

Drill 5

I dug out the very first tool I ever bought…a spring action eyelet setter.

3I never used this thing until a couple of years ago and every once in a while for challenges like this I get it out and take it for a drive…  For this layout eyelets were a perfect embellishment!

2 1

I used MME Miss Caroline Howdy Doody cardstock, circle nesting dies and punches, Fancy Pants buttons, MME and Jillibean Soup twine, Distress Ink Walnut Stain and punchinella.

Don’t forget to comment for a chance to win and check back over at S.W.A.T. soon where I will be inspiring you for Drill #6 too!!
