Explore Mini

This post will be fairly quick...with my last project using my February kit from Scrappy Chic.

This mini uses Kaisercraft Now Boarding paper and ephemra.

The cover of the mini is Heidi Swapp, I cut off the point edge, slapped a layer of walnut stain distress stain and used 2 of my favorite UmWow Studio masks, star confetti and checkerboard, with paste and such to add some beautiful texture.

All the pages are paper from the Now Boarding collection adorned with tags and tabs that are also from the collection.

I tied on some scraps of ribbon and twine I had laying around and finished with a key charm.

Of course when pictures get added more embellishing will take place.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

This week we are saying 'Hello SPRING!' over at Cuttin' and Stampin'.  I am not sure where in the world you are but here in the Midwest we have had enough of winter, so I for one am wishing for spring.
We are using Pebbles Front Porch collection  and Paper Smooches Green Thumb, both of which you can find at the Cuttin' and Stampin' facebook store.

I am sharing a card I made to send to a friend of mine I haven't heard from in a while...we will have some catching up to do.

I used Distress paint in Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar with an UmWow Studio mask, on UWS chipboard, splattered on my flowers and to watercolor paint the fussy cut rain boot.  I cut my flowers with Tim Holtz tattered floral dies, scattered some Doodlebug sprinkles, tied some May Arts burlap twine and VIOLA!  Hello SPRING!

The flower centers are a Fancy Pants resin rose and Perfect Pearls.

To me butterflies = spring, how about you??
Make sure you head over to the challenge blog and link up to this weeks challenge for a chance to win some fabulous scrappy goodness!!
Thanks for visiting and until next time...get inky often!

Authentique Abroad

Another project with my February Scrappy Chic kit.  This time it is Authentique (another of my top five favorites!!) Abroad.

These pictures are from our last CHA trip in January.  One of the exhibitor booths had these super fun frames for fun picture taking.

Mixed with the layers of paper is an MME washi tape from the chalkboard collection.  I splattered some of my new Dylusions mist on the page and used my gelli roll pens for doodling.  I used an UWS mask and some chipboard and a VLVS! star button stamp.

I am practicing my clean and simple technique...I will get there. :)

MME Now and Then

It is February already, can you believe how fast the time goes???   I was super lucky to have been invited back for a second term on the Scrappy Chic design team and I am so excited for what is in store for this year!!!
In our first kit we usually get just a couple of lines,,,you know the calm before the storm!  One of mine was MME (one of my top five favorites!) Now and Then Milo and I just love the colors of this line!
I decide to create a collection of two cards and a tag for spring/Easter.

I just am loving watercoloring the Tim Holtz blueprint stamps too!!!  I also used the brads and enamel dots from the MME collection.  The sentiments are the new hashtag stamps from Tim Holtz.  I used my distress markers to paint and spritz.  Twine, linen ribbon, Kaisercraft flower and May Arts ribbon were used too.

Now here is each up close and personal.

You can find all of this product at the store along with new things arriving everyday from the CHA trip in January.  I will see you there!!

Um Wow February Challenge

Do you love sketch challenges?  Do you love a chance to win AWESOME products?  Yes???  Well than you should head over to UmWow Studio for their February sketch challenge!!

I had A LOT of fun with this one because I used my BRAND new HOMEMADE gelli plate. (more on that in another post)

I used the brand new Authentique Classique Elegant collection for my base and then on my gelli plate I used black and white gesso.  I layered with the UWS checkerboard mask (modeling paste), a Bo Bunny doily and Tim Holtz tissue tape.

DeeDee at UWS just recently did a demo on whitewashing chipboard and I did that on the UWS pinetree and snowflake confetti.
I also used a doily stamp from VLVS!, Prima flowers, Dylusions and tiny attacher.

OK so I was mostly happy with this layout but I will say that in the last couple of days I decided I didn't like the large flower so it has since been removed...not sure if I will leave the space or fill it with something else...we shall see.

You have until the end of the month to link up...let's see what you create!!

Happy-just because

**For the Cuttin' and Stampin' Design Team Blog Hop please click here.

My January kit from Scrappy Chic had all Kaisercraft, and as I said I am totally OK with that!  For this layout I used the Violet Crush collection.

A couple of Um Wow Studio products were used too, circle confetti mask, flair and layered circles.  Distress paint and ink, May Arts ribbon and twine, gesso, modeling paste, Prima flowers and leaves and junkyard finidngs, Gauche Alchemy washi tape and punchinella, buttons and thread.
I am having so much fun with this black gesso!!

happy big circle

I used a cake decorating tool to apply the gesso.

happy circles

Gesso, modeling paste and distress paint in the punchinella and confetti circle mask for some awesome layers!

happy corner

I am also linking up to the latest challenge over at Scrapki Wyzwaniowo where challenge #92 is Circles!  Lots of circles on this layout.  I wanted to distress the edges of this layout and layer on my favorite piece of Domestic Goddess but OMG I only have one pieces left…I am still debating and searching for more before I commit my last piece.  I will let you know how it turns out…LOL!
