I joined Limor Weber's Mixed Media Creative Club and it was a fantastic decision for me!!! I just love what she does with all sorts of mediums!!
She shared an awesome technique with paint. I had so much fun that I have already done 2 canvases.
Today I am sharing canvas number two.
I went one step further and added some gorgeous embellishments from Prima, Um Wow Studios and May Arts Ribbon.
This UWS butterfly is covered in gesso and then I painted with my finger to add a bit of coordinating color. I absolutely love these Prima pebbles and of course the flowers are the PERFECT colors.
My Scrappy Chic design team kit always is full of my FAVORITES!!! I got some MME Frightful to work with and had some halloweeny fun!
I used a Kaisercraft frame which I painted black and covered with a sheet of paper. The rest was easy peasy...the pumpkin is from the dollar store, sawed in half. I glued some ribbon and a fuzzy spider on. The banners are more paper from the collection, black Bazzill and Tim Holtz alphas hanging from May Arts burlap string.
I created a tag also inspired by a Ustream tutorial by Limor Weber.
Um Wow Studio: Checkerboard mask and damaged punchinella
Other items used: gesso, acrylic paint, watercolor paint, alcohol ink, distress glitter, washi tape, Prima flowers, May Arts ribbon and twine, sequins, Tim Holtz book plate, distress ink, Heidi Swapp sticker, tiny attacher.
I just LOVE all the mixed media layers!!
The sequins and glitter give it just a bit of sparkle.
I am glad you stopped by!!! Make sure you get linked up for your chance to win some awesome UWS goodness!!
Hey everyone!!! How is September treating you?? Me? I can't believe we are into this year 3/4 of the way!!
I have been sharing journal spreads from a fantastic round robin swap I am participating in. Today I am sharing what I created For Tusia's journal. The theme is 'your favorite memory'.
Here is what I did...
Today over at SWAT we have out first drill up for September...drill #39, PRIMARY COLORS. Very appropriate with all the back to school hub bub right??!
I created a layout with a picture of my littlest little practicing her abc's getting ready to start kindergarten this year.
Supply list: Bazzill and Echo Park paper, Prima flowers and fabric wire, UWS damaged punchinella, circle confetti mask and flair, Bo Bunny doily, Art Anthology paint, Lyra watercolor crayons, Stampedeous stamp, thickers, gesso and a black pen.
I just love the bold colors of this layout!!
You have until the end of the month to get linked up...good luck!
I know it is only September 1st and the VLVS! inspiration board was just posted today but I was on a roll and was totally INSPIRED... :)
I had some tag bases that I made this weekend with 7 Dots Studios Nature Walk, UWS harlequin stencil and white acrylic paint so I grabbed one and this is what I came up with...
I was inspired by the colors and the steampunk-y-ness of the inspiration board. I added more layers to the tag with clear and white gesso, watercolors and the waybill/invoice background stamped in archival ink. Next some black thread, UWS gear mash chip, vintage watch face, Tim Holtz clock hands and a Prima roman numeral. I stamped Big Ben, fussy cut and covered in glossy accents, used my Dymo for the sentiment and stamped the flock of geese. Of course the final touch is the lovely May Arts ribbon.
I have been wanting to use the watch face for some time now and this was the perfect project!
Look at those layers of gesso and paint and watercolor...LOVE!!
You have until the end of the month to get linked up. See you there!!
