Christmas Kissing Ball

Every Friday until Christmas we are hopping, inspiring and giving away prizes.  This hop is all about decorations and the line up is a good one!!  Here it is:
Make sure you stop by each blog, leave some love and visit the Ribbon Resource blog to enter to win!!

My decoration is a Kissing Ball.  This is one of my favorite decorations for the holidays!!  This one is meant for inside decorating.

You will need:
a styrofoam ball
wood dowl
floral pins
greenery and berry picks

May Arts ribbon used (you can find all of these at The Ribbon Resource):

I used a wood dowl to create a hole threw the middle of the styrofoam ball.

I then used the dowl to push the 2 inch sheer ribbon through the ball (doubled and folded in half).  I tied knots at both ends to keep the ribbon from coming out.

Next I covered the enitre ball with my greenery and berry picks.

I created a loop with the striped ribbon and attached with a floral pin then stretched and twisted the ribbon in between loops that I attached randomly all over the ball.

Then I cut pieces of the canvas to create single loops to attach all over the ball.

I folded pieces of the mini bow in half, twisted around the floral pin, created spirals on both pieces by wrapping around the handle of a small paint brush and attached all over the ball.

I used the metallic gold string to add a tassle on the bottom.

Thanks for hopping with us today!!

Until next time...wrap yourself in ribbon!!

Michele Kosciolek  <== you are here

I created a fun banner to share with you today.  I used the Frosted Spruce 12x12 premium stack from DCWV and the 1.5 inch White Silky Crush ribbon from May Arts.

I strated with three different patterned papers from the stack.  Cut various sizes and trimmed to shape then layered up banners to attach my painted wood letters to.

Once the letters were glued on I punched holes on both sides of each banner.

Then I ran the ribbon through the holes to create my SNOW banner.
I up cycled a hanging frame I had with checken wire and small clothes pins by adding a layer of white paint to 'white wash' the frame.

I puched these snow flakes to put on top of my clothes pins and to add a few to the frame.
Viola!  Easy peasy and a super fun wall hanging for the winter.

Hope you are INSPIRED!!

Winged Giraffe

I am super lucky to be part of an collaborative group of very creative folks!!  I admire all of their work and am truely inspired by what we have been creating!

This time we altered (some made from scratch) paper mache animals.  I got ahold of a giraffe to alter.

Before we get started here is a list of all of the other blogs that you simply have to check out...there is some unbelievable talent in this group and I wouldn't want you to miss a thing!!

Now, back to my Winged Giraffe...yes of course it ended up with wings!!  They are the perfect expression of whimsy and I love the whimsical!!

I started with vintage dictionary pages (attached with Prima Art Ingredients gel), Art Anthology Colorations spray and the Viva Las VegaStamps! Writing Circle Background stamp.

I painted all the circles with Art Anthology Sorbet.

The wings are cut using the Tim Holtz Layered Angel Wings die.

Of course I had to add a bit of sparkel with Art Anthology Colorations Gilded Gold spray.

I loved creating this giraffe and am SO inspired by this collaborative group.  I can't wait to get started on our next project!!
