LA Sunset

For those of you that know me or have been following my blog for a while you know I love me some sunsets!!
My last trip to LA in January produced some good ones.

For this one I used the Authentique Classique: Beauty I got in my Scrappy Chic kit for February. Yep I am lucky enough to be on the team for another year.  I love being on this team!!

I also used Prima flowers, Studio Calico sequins, MME washi tape, gesso, rub on numbers, Heidi Swapp date stamp, thread and a VLVS! stitching stamp.
Also used by Um Wow Studio: checkerboard mask, sea birds mask and set sail flair.

Using thread under clusters is one of my favorite embellishments!!

And of course the Dymo label maker is perfect for titles!!

Love this simple little cluster!!

I am also linking up tot he UWS February sketch challenge.

You have until the end of the month, if you don't have time to create something but want to check out the other entries.....  click here.

Inspiration Wednesday Week 1

Donna Downey's Insporation Wednesday is an online workshop creating in an art journal.  I started a little late but I'll catch up eventually.  Week 1 was about a glazing technique that was a bunch of fun to create!!

I started with one of Donna's handmade journals with one signature in it to start.
Here is the first page.

I am learning a lot about color and different paint mediums!!

Lots of layers of gesso.

A little bit of stamping to with a Viva Las VegaStamps! sentiment and a tiny tag.
I am excited for the next week's video and what awesome technique I will learn!!

We are wrapping up the month of love and at SWAT the mood board challenge is all about it!

I was inspired by the hearts and the red and pink, of course, because those are the colors of love right?!!

I used a bunch of Prima bits and things from my stash to create the dimension on this canvas.  Gel medium, black gesso, Tattered Angels Glimmer mist and white gesso topped off with micro beads, sequins and a tiny bit of glitter.  You can also see how I used the heart confetti stencil from Um Wow Studios and some vintage lace for some awesome texture!!

I am in love with this technique I learned from Finnabair at CHA!

Thanks for stopping by to check out my project!!  You have until the end of the month to link up to the challenge for drill #50...let's see what you got!

Embrace Imperfection

This month over at Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo the challenge is Abstract Art-No Flowers...
I was very intregued so I decided to give it a go.

I created a canvas with a color combo I don't usually work with but I LIKE it!!

I used mat gel, gesso, acrylic paint, Layered Squares and Square Confetti from Um Wow Studio, a stencil from 7 Dots Destination Unknown collection and some bits of paper from the Nature Walk collection to create my background.  Then I sprayed Crushed Pisachio and Mustard Seed Distress Sprays and did some outlining with a Stablio pencil.  The rest are treasures from my stash.

I think I am in love with these colors!

and the dimension!!

Thanks for looking!!!  I have to go find a frame now...    :)

VLVS! February Challenge

This months challenge at Viva Las VegaStamps! speaks for itself!!!

I ADORE the bright and vibrant colors.  They are what inspired my card.

I used Victorian Carousel, Moon/Stars Clown, Wildflower Silhouette,  Until Further Notice stamps along with water colors, Paper Smooches die, glitter paste, UWS star confetti mask and flower confetti.

I just love the colorful background!!

And the glitter of the paste.

I hope you are inspired to join the challenge this month!!
