Dress Form Finnabair Style

At CHA in January Chris and I got to visit Prima for a workshop with Finnabair using all of her new mixed media products.  I was so excited to learn from Finn and her products with Prima are awesome.  Then over at SWAT Charity has a special ops project making your own dress form with regular household products...she challenged us to create some type of dressform project.  SO I created a dressform Finnabair style...

I worked on this for two days which might just be the longest I have worked on any one single project but I was having SO much fun!!!

I used loads of Prima bits and bobs, a couple Tim Holtz pieces and Um Wow Studio butterfly and flower confetti and one layered heart.

I used my Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists but just wasn't getting the depth of color I needed so I added some Silks color.

You might also notice the Um Wow Studio checkerboard mask I used with gel medium as one of my layers.

I added some micro beads for a bit of sparkle.

I wanted the feel of a gown so I used some shiny tulle and May Arts silk ribbon on the back of the dressform.

I am also entering this into the Finnabair Sparkle and Shine Challenge!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Dream, Beauty and Curiosity

While I was at CHA earlier this month with Chris from Scrappy Chic I was lucky enough to take the Evolution of Distress class with Tim Holtz!  We took home an awesome stamp set call Perspective and I did not waste any time inking them up.

In my January Scrappy Chic kit one of my collections was Kaisercraft's Blue Bay, I made this card collection using this as the card bases.

The background is Brusho on watercolor paper.

Inked edges are Distress Ink Gathered Twigs.

The stamped images are all Archival Ink.

Watch for this stamp set in the new arrivals from the CHA orders!!

Happy Birthday Mom!

SWAT has drill #48 up and it is a mood board inspiring new beginnings...  There is nothing like a birthday to inspire a new beginning.

For my mom's birthday I created this card inspired by the mood board.

I used Bazzill scraps and watercolor paper for the card base.  I used a thin layer of gesso and sprayed with Distress Spray in broken china.  The sea birds are a stencil from Um Wow Studio with heavy gesso.  The chipboard is also UWS, spooky branch and leaf confetti.
The stamps are Viva Las VegaStamps! banksy swing girl (watercolored with Distress Markers) and it's your big day.

The tiny leaf buds are painted with Art Anthology velvet paint.

I was also inspired by the January VLVS! mood board.

I love the blue background, the contrast of the black ink and of course the new beginnings and new growth!!
You have until the end of the month to enter both challenges for you chance to win great prizes!!
Thanks for stopping by today!!

US!

Happy New Year!!!  And with the new year comes a new sketch challenge over at Um Wow Studio.

I missed last month's so I was anxious to get to work on this one!!
In my December kit for Scrappy Chic I had some fun WeR Love Notes, it was perfect for a photo of me with my nieces.

I started with heavy gesso, then a layer of Art Anthology Velvet paint.  I layed the Um Wow Studio heart confetti stencil in the wet gesso for some awesome texture.  I also used the love confetti, everyday speech bubbles, make a wish pocket chip and from the heart flair.

I painted and embossed the chipboard pieces.

I was so inspired by this sketch I think I will be using it again!!  If you are also inspired make sure you link up what you create for a chance to win!!

One Little Word

Drill #47 at SWAT is about resolutions or your one little word, it is a tradition for the first drill of the year.  Last year my word was 'choices'.  I think I made some great ones in 2014!!
This year my word is 'be'.  I have to learn to just be and not worry so much about the things I have no control over.
I created a 4x6 reminder that I will frame and hang in a place that I see first thing EVERY morning!!

I used watercolor paper and paint, gesso, a Prima circle stencil, Viva Las VegaStamps! Be Adorable, Pink Paislee wood alphas, archival ink.

Happy 2015!!  Hope you have a chance to link up your art this month!!!
