#TheStencilfiedJournal Prompt 4

Here we are!  In our 4th week with our 4th prompt!!!

If you have been folowing along and have to get your hands on some of the super fun stencils you have seen, pop over to StencilGirl® .

So I always thought my least favorite color would be purple but when I looked at all my purple paint I couldn't find it in me to dislike any of them.  I did however pick a different color that I never use when I paint or stencil, lime green.

Here is what I did with some Dina Wakley paint in lime green.

While it isn't a color I reach for often I ended up really liking how this spread turned out...go figure!

I used the Scribble Blooms stencil for my background.

Then I wrote down some of my favorite things. I was imediately reminded of flowers in a garden so that is where I went using one of the new stamps designed by Tina walker for Viva Las VegaStamps!, Ethos Seeing Double.  Then of course lots of doodling with my Posca Paint Pens.

Stay tuned...same time next week for prompt 5!!

#Thestencilfiedjournal - Prompt 3

We are in our third week, #thestencilfiedjournal prompt 3.  I had fun with this one!

I found a leaf outside and flattened it in a book for a couple of days then but a thin coat of clear gesso on both side to seal it.

Here is what I ended up with.

StencilGirl Stencils used:  Fade Horizontal, Layers of Scallops, Scribble Blooms.
I stenciled with Posca Paint pens, Dina Wakley paint (lemon) and Distress Ink (Vintage Photo)

The leaf is outlined with a Graphite Sticks from Prima that I smeared all around with my finger first then a waterpen and then a baby wipe.

If you are inspired and work on these prompt please shared on Facebook or Instagram using these hashtags: #thestencilfiedjournal and #stencilgirl
We will be watching for you pages!!

#TheStencilfiedJournal - Prompt 2

Thanks for coming back for prompt TWO in our art hournal collaboration.
So if you remember from last week there was only one rule!  We just had to use Stencil Girl stencils on all of our pages.

Let's jump right in!

YES, stencil a page and RIP it out... I was slightly intimidated by that part but it is just paper right??!!

I stenciled with S301 Makes Marks Marks (Mary Beth Shaw) and S290 Deconstructed Zinnia Stencil and Mask (Traci Bautista)

Some painting wit Dina Wakley Medis paints; Marine, Cheddar, Olive and Lemon.  Doodling with Posca Paint Pens.

Now the hard part, mentally not physcially!!

I ripped that page right out!!!

Then tied it to a tree in my front yard!  I used a scrap of Sari ribbon.

I hope you will stop back next week for Prompt THREE!!

#TheStencilfiedJournal - Prompt 1

My friend and StencilGirl Products Columnist, Tina Walker, is up to her old tricks again and has created a fabulous collaboration where we will be art journaling based on 16 weekly prompts.  I am so happy to be participating and expanding my creative reach.
So, if you know Tina, there typically are not a lot of rules and in this case there is only 1!!  We just had to use Stencil Girl stencils on all of our pages.

Promt ONE
Image may contain: text

The journal I am using is 3-1/2 x 5-1/2.

After some typical mixed media journal prep I started smack dab in the middle of my journal.

No automatic alt text available.

I glued two pages together and slathered clear gesso on every surface!

My second layer was gold gesso, YES GOLD!!!
Then I stenciled with S301 Makes Marks Marks (Mary Beth Shaw).  Then I used the mask part of L414 Finding Your Tribe (Carolyn Dube).

All paint is Dina Wakley Media; Peacock, Sedona, Black, Blushing, Sky, Lemon and Eggplant.  I doodled with my new Posca Paint pens.

Head on over to A Dogs Life for all the juicy details and keep you eyes peeled weekly for more journaling fun with all of our prompts!!!
